Shutter (light)

Light Glossary
A venetian blind-like device attached to a light to adjust intensity without affecting color temperature; a mechanical dimmer.

Shutter, английский
  1. Usually lightweight louvered decorative frames in the form of doors located on the sides of a window. some shutters are made to close over the window for protection.

  2. Ability to control the integration (of light) time to the sensor to less than 1/60 second; e.g: stop motion of moving traffic.

  3. Ability to control the integration (of light) time to the sensor to less than 1/60 second.

  4. Заслонка; створка (сопла); затвор (фотокамеры)

  5. The physical device that opens and closes to let light from the scene strike the image sensor. digicams use both electronic and mechanical shutters.

  6. A mechanism in the camera that controls the duration of light transmitted to the film or sensor. leaf-shutter lenses, which include most view camera lenses and many medium-format lenses, contain their own proprietary shutters.

  7. In a focal plane shutter, a set of curtains travels past the film gate and allows light to strike the film within a set period of time. a leaf shutter is located within the lens itself.

Shutter, английский

Shutter (rt), английский
A device that incorporates a movable shield used to block the useful beam emitted from an xray tube assembly or source housing.

Shutter array, английский
    Оптический затвор

Shutter bar, английский
  1. A hinged bar that can be fastened across the interior side of a pair of shutters. when the shutters are in the closed position, completely covering the window, the shutter bar prevents their being opened, adding a measure of security.

  2. The bar that replaces the navigation pane in access when it is minimized.

Shutter blind, английский
An outside adjustable louver used as a window blind.

Shutter box, английский
A pocket or recess located along the interior side of a window to receive shutters when folded.

Shutter butt, английский
A small (usually narrow) hinge, esp. used on shutters and light doors.

Shutter dog, английский

Shutter fastener, английский
A pivoted device used to hold a shutter in the open position on the exterior side of a window; also called a shutter catch, shutter dog, or shutter holdback. side of the wall of a building, providing two inlet connections for fire hoses to the standpipes and fire-protection sprinkler system of the building. sic abbr. for “standard industrial classification.”

Shutter fastener., английский

Shutter hinge, английский

Shutter lag, английский
  1. The time between pressing the shutter and actually capturing the image. this is due to the camera having to calculate the exposure, set the white balance and focus the lens.

  2. Every camera has a slight delay from the time you press the shutter button to the time it actually fires and opens. in dslr’s it is minimal and almost unnoticeable. in smaller point and shoot cameras the delay is more pronounced such that it may actually cause a missed shot of a fast moving subject.

  3. The time between pressing the shutter and actually capturing the image. this is due to the camera having to calculate the exposure, set the white balance and focus the lens. is worse with smaller digicams whereas the better dslr’s now have little or no shutter lag, like the better film slr’s.

Shutter lift, английский
A handle fixed to a shutter for convenience in opening or closing it. shutter operator, shutter worker a device incorporating a crank for opening or closing a shutter from inside without opening the window.

Shutter priority, английский
  1. Shutter priority mode (nikon, minolta, konica minolta, sony, olympus, sigma brands), same as tv mode.

  2. A metering mode in which the shutter speed is fixed and the exposure is controlled by opening or closing the lens aperture. most modern cameras have step-less shutters that can be triggered to open and close infinitely between the camera`s fastest and slowest shutter speeds.

  3. An autoexposure mode where the shutter speed is user-selected and the exposure system chooses an appropriate aperture for correct exposure.

Shutter priority ae, английский
  1. The user chooses a shutter speed and the aperture is automatically determined by lighting conditions. shutter speed priority is used to control motion capture. a fast shutter speed stops fast action, a slow shutter speed blurs a fast moving subject.

  2. This is where the user chooses a shutter speed and the aperture is automatically determined by lighting conditions. shutter speed priority is used to control motion capture. a fast shutter speed stops fast action, a slow shutter speed blurs a fast moving subject. it is good to use shutter priority for sports or wildlife photography.

Shutter release button, английский
The button that releases the shutter and ``fires`` the camera. many shutter release buttons have two stages-slight pressure actuates the meter or autofocus system (or both), further pressure fires the shutter.

Shutter speed, английский
  1. Half of an exposure equation; the time that light is permitted to strike the light-sensitive surface within a camera. motion picture shutter speed is approxi-mately 1/50 of a second when the camera runs at 24 fps.

  2. The length of time the shutter remains open when the shutter release is activated, most commonly expressed in fractions or multiples of a second.

  3. An element of exposure; the duration of time in which light is allowed to strike the film.

  4. The amount of time the shutter is opened during an exposure. the shutter speed controls motion. use a fast speed (like 1/2000th of a second) to freeze motion, or a slow one (1/4 of a second or longer) to blur moving objects. learn more about shutter speed and how to control it in this article.

  5. The amount of time a shutter is open during exposure to allow the light to reach the film or, in digital cameras, the image sensor. shv (n)

Shutter worker, английский
    A shutter operator.

Temperature, английский
  1. Température

  2. Dry-bulb - temperature of air as indicated by a standard thermometer.

  3. An expression of thermal energy density. how hot or cold an object is.

  4. The measure of the intensity of heat that a substance possesses.

  5. Температура

  6. Температура тмр test methods and procedures методы проведения испытаний и последовательность их проведения тмр theodolite measuring point кинотеодолитная станция

  7. Temperatura, fiebre

  8. The condition attained when the wetted wick of a wet-bulb thermometer has reached a stable and constant temperature when exposed to moving air in excess of 900 ft (274.3 m) per minute.

  9. 1. the heat of the body or of the surrounding air, measured in degrees the doctor asked the nurse what the patient’s temperature was. his temperature was slightly above normal. the thermometer showed a temperature of 99°f. to take a patient’s temperature to insert a thermometer in someone’s body to see what his or her body temperature is they took his temperature every four hours. when her temperature was taken this morning, it was normal. 2. illness when your body is hotter than normal he’s in bed with a temperature. her mother says she’s got a temperature, and can’t come to work. comment: the average body temperature is about 37° celsius or 98° fahrenheit. this temperature may vary during the day, and can rise if a person has taken a hot bath or had a hot drink. if the environmental temperature is high, the body has to sweat to reduce the heat gained from the air around it. if the outside temperature is low, the body shivers, because rapid movement of the muscles generates heat. a fever will cause the body temperature to rise sharply, to 40°c (103°f) or more. hypothermia exists when the body temperature falls below about 35°c (95°f).
