Oil glossary
  1. A white, crystalline compound (c6h5oh) derived from benzene, used in the manufacture of phenolic resins, weed killers, plastics, disinfectants; also used in solvent extraction, a petroleum refining process. phenol is a toxic material; skin contact must be avoided.

  2. A class of acid organic compounds used in the manufacture of epoxy resins, phenolformaldehyde resins, plasticizers, plastics, and wood preservatives. phenol-formaldehyde resin, phenolic resin a thermosetting, waterproof, low-cost, mold-resistant, high-strength synthetic resin made from phenol and formaldehyde; has good resistance to aging; used extensively in the manufacture of adhesives, exterior and marine plywood, laminated products, and molded articles.

  3. A strong disinfectant used for external use. also called carbolic acid

Crystalline, английский
  1. A substance or rock composed largely or wholly of mineral crystals.

  2. Transparent, clear, or pure.

  3. Made up of crystals. the term crystalline applies to sections of all chemical fibers, which consists of alternate crystalline and amorphous (noncrystalline) regions. these regions are influenced by manufacturing conditions and to some extent can be controlled. the degree of crystallinity influences the physical properties of fibers.

Manufacture, английский
  1. (брит.) производство (в патентном законодательстве великобритании это понятие включает не только изготовление изделия, но и любой способ его сохранения, улучшения или восстановления)

  2. Изделие

Extraction, английский
  1. Extraction is the process of removing essential oils from plant material using solvents, which are then evaporated, leaving just the oil.

  2. 1. the removal of part of the body, especially a tooth 2. in obstetrics, delivery, usually a breech presentation, which needs medical assistance

  3. Извлечение

  4. Выделение (сигнала); извлечение; добывание; экстрагирование

  5. A process for obtaining natural oils by means of tanks and solvents and is used with certain flowers and plants where the heat of steam distillation might damage or destroy the odorous substances or in such cases where the yield of oils is rather small. in one process, the tank is stationary and the solvent flows over the flowers or other natural matter. the other involves the use of a revolving unit inside of which the flowers move through the solvent. after removal of the solvent, alcohol is agitated through the remaining mixture of waxes and oils and the former is removed by chilling and filtering. the alcohol and oil mixture is then brought to the boiling point, the alcohol filtered off, and the concentrate allowed to remain for recovery. the concrete, as previously defined, is the pure essence in solid form from which an absolute is derived.

  6. Removal of one substance from another, often accomplished by a solvent.

  7. Removal of one substance from another, often accomplished by means of a solvent.

  8. The process of taking out useable ore from waste materials

Preservatives, английский

Formaldehyde, английский
  1. A gas with an unpleasant smell that is a strong disinfectant. when dissolved in water to make formalin, it is also used to preserve medical specimens.

  2. A colorless, strong-smelling gas that`s used in different industries and products including building materials, walls, cabinets, furniture, and personal care products as a type of preservative. it has been banned or restricted in japan, sweden, the european union, and canada because of its link to cancer, and yet it is still not banned in the united states.

Thermosetting, английский
  1. Having the property of undergoing a chemical

  2. Descriptive of a material such as synthetic resin which hardens when heated or cured, and does not soften when reheated.

Waterproof, английский
  1. Водонепроницаемый

  2. In the building trades, descriptive of any material or construction which is impervious to water.

  3. A term applied to materials that are impermeable to water; waterproof fabrics have all of their pores closed and are also impermeable to air making them uncomfortable to wear.

  4. A term applied to materials that are impermeable to water; waterproof fabrics have had all their pores closed and are also impermeable to air and very uncomfortable. water-repellent: a term applied to fabrics that can shed water but are permeable to air and comfortable to wear. these fabrics are produced by treating the material with a resin, wax, or plastic finish that is not completely permanent.

Resistance, английский
  1. Property of a conductor that opposed the current flow produced by a given difference of potential. the ohm is the practical unit of resistance.

  2. Уровень сопротивления - уровень цен, при котором активные продажи могут приостановить или развернуть тенденцию к повышению;

  3. Сопротивление (параметр)

  4. Сопротивление

  5. Сопротивление, т. е. уровень цен, при котором активные продажи могут приостановить или развернуть тенденцию к повышению.

  6. 1. the ability of a person not to get a disease 2. the ability of bacteria or a virus to remain unaffected by a drug the bacteria have developed a resistance to certain antibiotics. 3. opposition to a force

  7. Resistencia

  8. Устойчивость; резистентность resource for child health (reach)

  9. Устойчивость; резистентность

  10. The property of opposing movement, for example [1] electrical conductors offer resistance to the flow of electricity and dissipate some of its energy, usually as heat. [2] water resists the movement of vessels or other objects by parasitic drag, consuming some of the power available to drive the vessel forward.

  11. Imperviousness of the coating to mechanical, chemical, physical or weather influences

  12. Capacity of a member or component, or a cross-section of a member or component of a structure, to withstand actions without mechanical failure e.g. bending resistance, buckling resistance, tension resistance

  13. A material’s ability to restrict the flow of electrical current through itself. measured in ohms.

  14. The opposition of a circuit to the flow of current . resistance is measured in ohms, and can be calculated by dividing the voltage by current.

  15. The ability to impede (resist) the flow of electric current. with the exception of superconductors, all substances have a greater or lesser degree of resistance. substances with very low resistance, such as metals, conduct electricity well and are called conductors. substances with very high resistance, such as glass and rubber, conduct electricity poorly and are called nonconductors or insulators.

  16. An effective upper bound on prices achieved because of many willing sellers at that price level.

  17. Capacity of a component, or cross section of a component of a structure to

  18. The opposition to the flow of an electrical current through a conductor or circuit that does not include inductive or capacitive elements. it can be expressed as the ratio of the applied voltage to the current.
