Демографический переход, русский
- , концепции, объясняющие смену типов воспроизводства населения, под которыми понимается свойственное данному этапу общественного развития единство интенсивности демографических процессов (смертности, брачности, рождаемости) и механизмов их социального регулирования. переход от традиционного (высокая смертность, высокая рождаемость) к современному (низкая смертность, низкая рождаемость) типу воспроизводства населения начался в кон. 18 в. в ряде стран зап. европы и только к сер. 20 в. охватил весь мир.
- Переход страны от высокого к низкому уровню рождаемости (и смертности), что раньше считалось показателем индустриализации и технических преобразований, но, возможно, в большей степени связано с повышением грамотности и социальной роли женщин, нежели с другими факторами.
