- Free time given to officers and crew of a naval vessel when they are off duty and allowed to disembark and spend time on land. see also liberty.
- Rn term for permission to be relieved of all duties and be absent from a ship or shore establishment for less than 48 hours (the usn term is liberty); longer periods of authorized absence are termed leave in both services.
