Adsorption, английский
- Adhesion of the molecules of gases, liquids, or dissolved substances to a solid surface, resulting in relatively high concentration of the molecules at the place of contact; e.g. the plating out of an anti-wear additive on metal surfaces.
- The action of a material in extracting a substance from the atmosphere (or a mixture of gases and liquids) and gathering it on the surface in a condensed layer; the process is not accompanied by physical or chemical change.
- The attachment of one substance to another, often the bonding of a liquid with a gas or vapour which touches its surface
- The attraction of gases, liquids, or solids to surface areas of textile fibers, yarns, fabrics, or any material. (also see absorption.)
- A surface-based process where a substance’s atoms, ions, or molecules adhere to the adsorbent.

Reservoir filter, английский
A filter installed in a reservoir in series with a suction or return line. also known as sump filter.
Remaining useful life, английский
An opinion (based on data, observations, history, records, exposure, etc.) of the number of years before a fluid, system or component will require replacement or reconditioning.
