Distillation (fractionation)

Глоссарий терминов смазочных материалов
The first step in separating crude oil into its various components uses a distillation tower, or pipe still, through which heated crude oil vapors rise to progressively cooler levels, so that the various hydrocarbons condense at different levels all the way to the top of the column. the lower boiling point and lighter weight fractions rise to the top, the highest boiling point and heaviest condense near the bottom, all others in between. gases, light oils and fuels are drawn off at the top, while heavy products like heavy fuel oil and asphalt are drawn from the bottom, with other products in between. this step is conducted at atmospheric pressure. vacuum distillation, mainly for lube stocks, is performed with heavy crudes or bottoms at sub- atmospheric pressure, permitting fractionation at lower temperatures. the still is called a vacuum tower.

Distillate, английский

Distillate fuel, английский
Fuel composed mainly of materials evaporated during the distillation of crude oil.

Distillate oil, английский

Distillates, английский
The lubricant and oil fractions produced in a distillation column, except for bottoms and the natural gas liquids at the top of the column-dividing head.

Distillation, английский
  1. Перегонка

  2. A water purification process in which water is converted to a vapor by boiling it, and then reconverted to purified water by cooling the vapor. disc tumbler lock 316 the process of distillation distribution box

  3. The action of distilling a liquid

  4. One of the oldest methods of separating oils from flowers and still widely used. it is a heat-dependent process for separation and purification of a liquid mixture based on differences in vapor pressure of components of the mixture. in each case, the flowers or other sources of oil are changed into a still and heat is applied to separate the oil. one type involves direct contact between the plant material and boiling water. in another type, the heat source is steam that is blown through the flowers. the process involves vaporization of the more volatile component(s) and then condensation of the vapor back to a liquid. the water and oil are collected and as they separate, the oil is removed from the top.

Distillation furnace, английский

Distillation method (astm d-95), английский
A method involving distilling the fluid sample in the presence of a solvent that is miscible in the sample but immiscible in water. the water distilled from the fluid is condensed and segregated in a specially-designed receiving tube or tray graduated to directly indicate the volume of water distilled.
