Rankboost
Глоссарий по искусственному интеллекту |
Rankboost is an extension of the basic adaboost methodology that has been modified to handle training data that contains partial orderings. an example would be movie or book ratings where each respondent orders (ranks) a small subset of the available movies/books. the rankboost algorithm derives a combined ordering that attempts to preserve the original orderings.

- A branch of the philosophy of science concerned with methods and techniques of scientific inquiry, their composition and ability to yield valid knowledge. although "methodology" is often confused with "methods", their referents are related just as biology is related to living organisms or as sociology is related to society. the aim of methodology then is to describe and analyze not the objects or the products but the processes of scientific inquiry, to investigate the potentialities and limitations of particular techniques, to reveal their presuppositions and epistemological consequences, to suggest structural reasons for successes and failures, and to develop, test and offer generalizations about scientific procedures. micrq-

Subsumption architecture, английский
R. brooks, at mit, developed subsumption architecture as a novel approach to robotics control. rather than have a central control controlling each action in detail, this architecture takes a bottom-up approach, building very small control units that have a defined reflex cycle, and combines these together in a layered hierarchy. each behavior is modeled by a finite-state matchine with only a few states. this approach has been successful at developing robots that exhibit insect level intelligence.
Rational monotonicity, английский
Rational monotonicity is a variant of monotone logic that allows one to retain the existing conclusions whenever new information cannot be negated by existing conclusions. see also: monotone logic.
