Hatchway, английский

Nettalk, английский
Nettalk, created in 1978, is a classic example of a training multilayer perceptron network that was used to study the conversion of text to spoken words. the network converted the text input into a series of feature vectors, which were then mapped into a sequence of phonemes and stress markers. when the system was trained on 1024 words extracted from a child`s speech, it was 95 percent accurate in producing the correct phoneme, and achieved a 78 percent accuracy on a second set of about 450 words that were not in the training set. the network was fairly robust to variations in the node weights and required a much smaller storage space than comparable dictionary lookup programs. see also: perceptron, neural network.
