Turbine, английский
  1. Турбина

  2. A machine driven by the reactive force of a gas or liquid flowing through blades or vanes attached to a rotor. in marine service, steam or gas turbines are used as main propulsion systems and also for auxiliary purposes such as electrical generation. turbo-blower: a device used to complete the evacuation of a submarine’s ballast tanks after the boat has surfaced. colloquially, “blower.” turbo-electric: a propulsion system consisting of a turbine connected to a generator whose electricity powers the propellers.

  3. A bladed, rotating engine activated by the reaction or impulse, or both, of a directed current of fluid. in electric power applications, such as geothermal plants, the turbine is attached to and spins a generator to produce electricity.

  4. Equipment that converts the kinetic energy of a fl ow of air, water, hot gas or steam into rotary mechanical power, used for direct drive or electricity generation (see wind, hydro, gas or steam turbines). condensing steam turbines exhaust depleted steam in a heat exchanger (called condenser) using ambient cooling from water (river, lake, sea) or air sources (cooling towers). a backpressure steam turbine has no condenser at ambient temperature conditions, but exhausts all steam at higher temperatures for use in particular heat end-uses. united nations framework convention on climate change (unfccc): the convention was adopted on may in new york and signed at the earth summit in rio de janeiro by more than countries and the european economic community. its ultimate objective is the “stabilization of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system”. it contains commitments for all parties. under the convention, parties included in annex i aimed to return greenhouse gas emissions not controlled by the montreal protocol to levels by the year . the convention came into force in march . in , the unfccc adopted the kyoto protocol. see also annex i countries, annex b countries and kyoto protocol.

  1. Турбулентность

  2. Disturbed motion of the sea or atmosphere, usually due to the confluence of water or air currents.

  3. Турбулентность flow ~ турбулентность потока turf 1. дёрн 2. торф

  4. Airflow that varies in speed and direction rapidly and violently that can cause damage to wind turbines. often caused by objects such as trees or buildings. v vertical-axis wind turbine: a wind turbine with the axis or main shaft mounted vertically, or perpendicular to the earth’s surface. this type of turbine does not have to be turned to face the wind—it always does. types include savonius and darrius.

  5. Турбулентность. наложение на среднее движение воздуха интенсивного перемешивания в результате беспорядочных и постоянно изменяющихся движений воздушных масс:. см. также boundary layer; flow,: turbulent — пограничный слой; турбулентное течение.

  6. Disorderly and agitated motion of a gas, fluid or vapor. in automotive context the term relates either to the turbulent flow of air that has ceased smooth or laminar flow over a vehicle body, or to the intentionally disorderly flow of air that promotes good mixing with the fuel ch
