A separator that utilizes subatmospheric pressure to remove certain gases and liquids from another liquid because of their difference in vapor pressure.

- Сепаратор прибор для отбора проб воздуха, содержащий несколько (как правило, 8—10) раздельных дымоулавливающих фильтров и наборов реактивов, причем воздушный поток автоматически переключается с одного фильтра на другой через определенные интервалы времени (обычно через сутки). широко применяется в западной европе для ежедневных замеров концентрации дыма и сернистого газа; использование этого прибора снимает необходимость ежедневных выездов на пункт отбора проб. использованные дымовые фильтры и реактивы вынимают для проведения анализов с интервалом в 7—10 дней, а на их место помещают новые фильтры и реактивы.

A distillation method which involved reducing the pressure above a liquid mixture to be distilled to less than its vapor pressure (usually less than atmospheric pressure). this causes evaporation of the most volatile liquid(s) - those with the lowest boiling points. this method works on the principle that boiling occurs when a liquid`s vapor pressure exceeds the ambient pressure. it can be used with or without heating the solution.
