Angle between the line of action and a line tangent to both pitch circles. this angle remains constant with involute form teeth at any point in the contact path. common pressure angles are 14.5° and 20°; when stronger teeth are needed, larger angles are used. pressure angles increase with center distance. pressure, atmospheric: see normal pressure.
