Rule induction

Глоссарий по искусственному интеллекту
A form of data analysis aimed at developing rules or relationships between attributes through the analysis of relevant databases, rather than from theoretical models. rule induction usually refers to if-then clauses although other predictive models can provide "rules" to summarize the data. see also: data analysis, data mining, regression.

  5. The process of inferring a general principle from data or examples. inductive logic programming (ilp) inductive logic programming (ilp) is an alternate approach to machine learning. most techniques in this field are attribute-based, concentrating on learning values of attributes that best predict the outcome variables. ilp assumes the background knowledge expressed as a set of predicate definitions, a set of positive examples, and a set of negative examples. an ilp system will then attempt to extend the background knowledge so that all the positive examples can be derived while none of the negative examples can be. although this may sound similar to the general problem of inductive learning, ilp systems require that the background knowledge and its extension be represented in predicate logic, typically prolog. see also: attribute-based learning, belief net, logic programming, machine learning, prolog. induct-rdr induct-rdr is a machine learning algorithm that can learn using the ripple down rules technique. see also: ripple down rules, http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~s2176432/rdr.html

  9. Induction is the process of introducing a new employee to the company culture and processes with the aim of bringing

  10. Induction is the introductory phase of a new employee`s career. an effective induction program will help new hires assimilate into the workplace and understand their role within the organization.

Induction bend, английский

Induction brazing, английский
A brazing process in which the required heat is obtained from the resistance of the work to an induced electric current.

Induction coil, английский
An apparatus for generating electromagnetic currents in a metal. commonly used by bit setters as a means of melting and/or sintering metals used in producing bit crowns by casting or other mechanical methods. compare induction furnace, induction pot.

Induction heating, английский
  1. In piping, the heat treatment of completed welds by the heat generated by the use of induction coils around the piping.

  2. Индукционный нагрев

Induction log, английский
In this electric well log, the conductivity of a formation is measured. in other surveys, the resistivity is measured. conductivity measurements work because oil-bearing formations are less conductive than water-bearing formations.

Induction manifold, английский
    See intake manifold.

Induction melting, английский

Induction motor, английский
An alternating-current motor having its primary winding, on one member (which is usually the stator), connected to the source of electric power; a secondary winding on the other member (usually the rotor) carries the induced current.

Induction of labour, английский

Induction port, английский
  1. Induction pipe

  2. See intake port.

Developing, английский
  1. A series of chemical and physical actions done in a commercial lab or the home darkroom that converts light-struck film to an image that can be viewed directly or printed; making prints from negatives.

  2. A stage in dyeing or printing in which leuco compounds, dyes, or dye intermediates are converted to the final, stable state or shade.

  2. Регрессия

  3. 1. a stage where symptoms of a disease are disappearing and the person is getting better 2. (in psychiatry) the process of returning to a mental state which existed when the person was younger

  4. Regression commonly refers to the process of developing an empirical (data-driven) model to predict and/or explain one or more attributes in a database or set of data. it is most frequently associated with the simple linear model (y=mx+b) taught in most introductory statistics courses; the same ideas have been extended in many directions, including classification problems. when the emphasis is on hypothesis testing and simple models, the regression output is typically a few parameters that provide a direct linkage from the input variables to the predicted variables (or classification). in other situations the emphasis is on explaining as much of the variability in the output variables as is "reasonable" from the input variables. in this case, there are a number of "advanced" techniques, such as smoothing splines, decision trees, neural nets, and so forth, for which there are many "free" parameters. the meaning of any one of these parameters can be obscure. many data mining techniques are, at their core, variations on well-known regression techniques. see also: classification, clustering, decision trees, neural nets.

  5. The reappearance of a previously fixed problem.

  6. The statistical process of predicting one or more continuous variables, such as profit or loss, based on other attributes in the dataset.

  7. A mathematical technique used to explain and/or predict. the general form is y = a + bx + u, where y is the variable that we are trying to predict; x is the variable that we are using to predict y, a is the intercept; b is the slope, and u is the regression residual. the a and b are chosen in a way to minimize the squared sum of the residuals. the ability to fit or explain is measured by the r-square.

Gray codes, английский
A form of binary encoding (patented by frank gray in 1953) which can be used to encode the integers [0, . . ., 2n-1] as a binary string of length n. they have the special property that adjacent integers differ by only one bit, sometimes referred to as an "adjacency property." they have been used in a genetic algorithm to encode numbers, as a small mutation in a gray code encoding tends to yield a small change in the value.
