Direction strategies, английский
Direction strategies are used in automated reasoning systems to decide which of the available clauses will be pursed next. a first-in, first-out strategy (level saturation) chooses the first (oldest) clause in the list of retained clauses while a last-in, first-out strategy chooses the newest clauses. other rules might choose, for example, the simplest clause available, or some other weighting. see also: otter.

Divide and conquer, английский
Divide and conquer is the name of a general technique for solving complex problems. the basic idea is to solve the larger problem by first solving simpler problems and then to combine the smaller solutions into larger solutions. for example, a sorting algorithm might use network sorts to sort small groups of data quickly and then use a merge algorithm to combine progressively large subsets.
