For millennia, the eyes of horus have had immense significance for mediterranean mariners (see oculi). this falcon-headed god of ancient egypt had many manifestations, all of which involved light, the sky, and kingship. the sun was his right eye, and the moon his left. when neither was visible (as on the night of a new moon) he went blind and was known as mekhenty-er-irty, but when they returned he became khenty-irty (he who has eyes).

Hospital corpsman, английский
A u.s. navy enlisted medical rating. in 1861, a navy department order replaced “loblolly boy” with “nurse,” and navy regulations of 1876 changed the title to “bayman,” (one who staffed the sick bay). since 1898, enlisted medical personnel have been called “hospital corpsmen.” they assist health care professionals in providing medical care to navy people and their families, and may function as clinical or specialty technicians, medical administrative personnel and health care providers at medical treatment facilities. they also serve as battlefield corpsmen with the marine corps.
