Tungsten filament

Light Glossary
A lamp coil that emits light (and heat) when electricity flows through it. see: incandescent lamp and tungsten-halogen lamp.

Filament, французский
A strand of cool gas suspended over the photosphere by magnetic fields, which appears dark as seen against the disk of the sun; a filament on the limb of the sun seen in emission against the dark sky is called a prominence.

Filament, английский

  2. Filamento

  3. An incandescent lamp whose form and construction are designated by a letter: s, straight wire; c, coil; cc, coiled coil.

  4. A long thin structure like a thread filamentous 146

  5. Нить

  6. A fiber of an indefinite or extreme length such as found naturally is silk. manufactured fibers are extruded into filaments that are converted into filament yarn, staple, or tow.

  7. A fiber of continuous indefinite length. man-made examples are rayon, nylon, polyester, and polypropylene. silk and hair are examples of natural filaments. filaments can be used in their entirety, manipulated, or chopped into staple fibers that are then spun into yarn. unmanipulated filament is called continuous filament.

  8. A fiber of an indefinite or extreme length such as found naturally in silk. manufactured fibers are extruded into filaments that are converted into filament yarn, staple, or tow.

Filament (rt), английский
The source of electrons in a hot-cathode tube. it is usually a heated wire.

Filament count, английский
The number of individual filaments that make up a thread or yarn.

Filament lamp, английский

Filament number, английский
The linear density of a filament expressed in units such as denier or tex. (also see fineness.)

Filament of water, английский

Filament reinforced cylinder case,

Filament transformer (rt), английский
A transformer supplying power to heat the filament of a hot-cathode. the primary and secondary windings must be sufficiently insulated to withstand the peak potential difference between the cathode and earth.

Filament winding, английский
In the fabrication of composites, the process of placing reinforcing fibers over a rotating form, (mandrel) to make the product shape. prepreg fibers or dry fibers that are treated in a resin bath immediately prior to winding may be used. the wound form can be cured or consolidated after the fiber winding is complete to product specifications.

Filament wound (plastics),

Filament wound cfrp cylinder,

Filament wound plastics,

Filament yarn, английский
  1. A yarn composed of continuous filaments assembled with or without twist.

  2. A yarn composed of continuous filaments assembled with or without twist. (also see yarn.)

Filament-wound composite,

Filament., английский

Filamentary, английский

Filamentary shrinkage, английский

Filamentation, английский

Filamente,

Filamentous, английский
    Long thread-like morphology of microorganisms

Electricity, английский

  2. Energy resulting from the flow of charge particles, such as electrons or ions.

  3. The movement of electrons (a subatomic particle), produced by a voltage, through a conductor.

  4. Energy resulting from the flow of charged particles, such as electrons or ions.

  5. The fl ow of passing charge through a conductor, driven by a difference in voltage between the ends of the conductor. electrical power is generated by work from heat in a gas or steam turbine or from wind, oceans or falling water, or produced directly from sunlight using a photovoltaic device or chemically in a fuel cell. being a current, electricity cannot be stored and requires wires and cables for its transmission (see grid). because electric current fl ows immediately, the demand for electricity must be matched by production in real time.

Incandescent, английский

Incandescent lamp or light, английский
A lamp that produces white light when electric current excites the filament. see: tungsten filament and tungsten halogen lamp.

Specular (subject), английский
A highly reflective, mirror-like surface. tip: if your subject is specular and small, stick it in a translucent tent, cut a hole for your lens, and douse it with light. or surround it with white panels.
