  3. The maximum value of a varying waveform.

  4. The size or magnitude of a voltage or current waveform; the strength of a signal.

  5. The maximum value of the electromagnetic wave, measured from the mean to the extreme; simply stated

  6. Of oscillation or vibration, the maximum displacement from the mean position.

  7. N амплитуда

  8. As a general term, implies extent. in astronomy, it is an arc of the horizon intercepted between the true east or west points thereof, and the centre of the sun, star, or planet, at its rising or setting. in other words, it is the horizontal angular distance of a star from the east or west points. it is eastern or ortive when the heavenly object rises, and western or occiduous when it sets, and is moreover northern or southern according to its quarter of the horizon.—amplitude, in gunnery, is the range or whole distance of a projectile, or the right horizontal line subtending the curvilineal path in which it moved.—amplitude, in magnetism, is the difference between the rising and setting of the sun from the east and west points, as indicated by the mariner`s or magnetic compass—which subtracted from the true amplitude, constitutes the error of the compass, which is the combined effect of variation and local deviation.

  10. Амплитуда, размах ~ of imperfection наибольшее значение геометрического дефекта (отклонения от проектного очертания) ~ of oscillations амплитуда колебаний ~ of vibrations амплитуда механических колебаний

  11. The height of a wave

  12. The extent of vibratory movement measured from the mean position to an extreme; the maximum departure of alternating voltage or current from the average value; indicated by vertical height on an a-scan presentation.

Ampl, английский
  1. Amplifier

  2. Amplitude

Amplitud, испанский

Expression, французский

Electromagnetic, английский

Oscillation, английский
    1. the action of moving backwards and forwards between two points at a regular speed 2. a single movement between two points

Displacement, английский

  3. The weight of water displaced by the immersed volume of a ship`s hull, exactly equivalent to the weight of the whole ship.

  4. The weight, in tons of 2,240 pounds, of the vessel and its contents. calculated by dividing the volume of water displaced in cubic feet by 35, the average density of sea water.

  6. The fact of being moved out of the usual position fracture of the radius together with displacement of the wrist

  9. The centre of gravity of the displacement relates to the part of the ship under water, considered as homogeneous. the weight of water which a vessel displaces when floating is the same as the weight of the ship. (see centre of cavity.)

  10. Weight of a vessel expressed as either the number of long tons, or the cubic feet of water, displaced by the hull (1 ton = 35 cu.ft of seawater or 35.9 cu.ft of fresh).

  11. The volume of liquid delivered by a single stroke of a pump piston.

  12. Sometimes used as a synonym for offset deflec tion, deviation, dislocation, throw.

  13. The capacity of an air compressor, usually ex pressed in cubic feet of air per minute (c.f.m.).

  14. The weight of water dislocated by the hull of a vessel.

  15. The weight of a boat measured according to the weight of water it displaces. a boat displaces an amount of water equal to the weight of the boat, so the boat’s displacement and weight are identical.

  17. The product of stroke and of cylinder bore and number of cylinders of an engine, representing the theoretical volume of (incompressible) working fluid that can be drawn into an engine with each cycle. see also capacity and swept volume. 45

  18. Displacement is where you change your nearest relative. the process of changing the nearest relative is often known as ‘displacement proceedings’. your nearest relative can be displaced if you or the local authority have concerns about the way that they are behaving. see our pages on the nearest relative for more information.

Horizontal, английский

  3. At right angles to the direction of gravity; on the level; parallel to the horizon; neither vertical nor inclined.

  4. A direction parallel to the horizon, or what is commonly termed lying flat. one of the greatest inconveniences navigators have to struggle with is the frequent want of a distinct sight of the horizon. to obviate this a horizontal spinning speculum was adopted by mr. lerson, who was lost in the victory man-of-war, in which ship he was sent out to make trial of his instrument. this was afterwards improved by smeaton, and consists of a well-polished metal speculum about 3-1/2 inches in diameter, inclosed within a circular rim of brass, so fitted that the centre of gravity of the whole shall fall near the point on which it spins. this is the end of a steel axis running through the centre of the speculum, above which it finishes in a square for the convenience of fitting a

Angle of view, английский
  1. Represents the area of a scene (maximum horizontal and vertical angle) that can be seen through a lens. measured in degrees.

  3. May be expressed in diagonal, horizontal or vertical. smaller focal lengths give a wider angle of view.

  5. The angle of view is calculated by the focal length of the lens and the size of the image sensor. consumer digicam focal lengths are usually stated in terms of their 35mm film equivalents. for digital slr cameras with interchangeable lenses it`s more difficult as different cameras have different size sensors. use this online lens calculator to view the angle of view of a lens on any of today`s popular dslr cameras.

  6. The angle accepted by a lens or meter which depends upon its focal length and the camera aperture (commonly, the horizontal angle). answer print, trial print (film) one of the early lab attempts (typically there are two or three) to combine picture and sound. it is also the time for light and color correction and exploration; the time when all your previous efforts can be spoiled or perfected. be there. see: timed print (an earlier stage).

  7. The maximum angle a lens covers in the field. measured in degrees, and qualified by terms such as wide-angle, normal, and telephoto. a wide angle lens has a wider angle of view than a telephoto lens. a 135mm lens on a 35mm slr covers an 18-degree angle of view; a 28mm lens covers a 75-degree angle of view.

  8. This is calculated by the focal length of the lens and the size of the image sensor. the 35mm equivalents differ according to the sensor size.

  10. In visual testing, the angle in degrees between the field of view axis and the axis of the fiberscope’s articulating section. also called direction of view angstrom (a): disused unit of length. 1 a = 0.1 nm.

Alkaline battery, английский
  1. Dc power source with a longer life than a standard battery. cannot be recharged.
