Abbreviations in Geographic Information Systems and Cartography
  1. High level waste (radioactivity)

  2. High-level waste

  3. High-level waste. radioactive waste is normally classified into a small number of categories to facilitate regulation of handling, storage and disposal based on the concentration of radioactive material it contains and the time for which it remains radioactive. the definitions of categories differ from country to country. however, in general, hlw contains long-lived radionuclides with high activity, which may also produce heat. it typically is concentrated as part of the process of reprocessing and solidified using vitrification to produce a glass-like substance suitable for interim storage and ultimately, disposal. spent nuclear fuel that will not be reprocessed is included in this category. geological disposal is foreseen for this type of waste.

High level waste (radioactivity), английский

High-level waste, английский

Radioactivity, английский
  1. Energy in the form of radiation emitted by a radioactive substance

  3. Spontaneous nuclear disintegration with emission of corpuscular or electromagnetic radiation. the principal types of radioactivity are alpha disintegration, beta decay (electron emission, positron emission, and electron capture), and isomeric transition.

Radioactive, английский
  1. Radioactive can generally describe the property of a substance (or more accurately atomic nuclei) which are unstable and spontaneously decay (disintegrate) with the release of energy, the energy being either electromagnetic radiation , particulate or both

  2. Радиоактивный

  3. Generally, the property possessed by certain elements, such as uranium minerals, of spontaneously emitting alpha, teta, and/or gamma rays by the disintegration of the nuclei of their atoms.

  4. Atoms that are energetically unstable and decay to a stable condition by emitting radiation are said to be radioactive.

Classified, английский
  1. Секретно

  2. A general term defining information which must be controlled in the interest of national security. see “confidential,” “secret,” and “top secret.”

Categories, английский
  1. A feature that allows the user to apply custom or default markers to items (e.g. outlook messages or onenote content) in order to categorize information for easy retrieval and sorting.

  2. A list of categories that developers select from to make their app more discoverable.

  3. A list of different types of xbox music application contents, such as games, music+video, lifestyle.

  4. The section of the store that shows subgroups of apps and games, grouped by intended use or function.

  5. Flexible and rigid. borescope, ultraviolet: borescope with the ability to transmit ultraviolet radiation to the distal end while transmitting visible light to the eyepiece.

Facilitate, английский

Regulation, английский
  1. A rule or order prescribed for management or government

  2. Регулирование

  3. Регулирование, правило, постановление

  4. Any rule prescribing permitted or forbidden conduct, whether established by legislation or the action of an administrative agency; also

  5. The act of regulating the regulation of the body’s temperature

  6. Any systematic (rule-like or determinate) behavior of one part of a system that tends to restrict the fluctuations in behavior of another part of that system. while both parts must lie in the same feedback loop, regulation involves this basic asymmetry

  7. The process whereby the designated government authority provides oversight and establishes rules for firms in an industry. regulation places constraints on behavior, establishes good (or bad) incentives, and addresses issues that are politically contentious. decisions are implemented through a rule or order issued by an executive authority or regulatory agency of a government and having the force of law.

  8. Норма

  9. A rule or order issued by governmental executive authorities or regulatory agencies and having the force of law. regulations implement policies and are mostly specifi c for particular groups of people, legal entities or targeted activities. regulation is also the act of designing and imposing rules or orders. informational, transactional, administrative and political constraints in practice limit the regulator’s capability for implementing preferred policies.

  10. The order in which trains are run in practice so as to minimise delay

Concentration, английский
  1. The amount of a substance present in a certain amount of soil, water, air, food, blood, hair, urine, breath, or any other media.

  2. Concentración

  3. N концентрация

  4. Концентрация; кучность

  5. The area covered by the diamonds as compared with the total area of the cutting surface of a surface-set bit.

  6. The volume of diamonds, expressed in percent, compared to the total volume of the crown of an im pregnated bit

  7. The percentage of acid compared with the volume of water added to produce a dilute solution.
