- A systematic (as opposed to random) movement of individuals in a fish stock from one place to another.
- The loss of plasticizer from a plastic, usually due to heat or aging. it is undesirable since it will make the plastic hard and brittle. it is also called leaching.

(лат . migratio, от migro - перехожу, переселяюсь),1) перемещение, переселение.2) миграция населения - перемещения людей, связанные, как правило, со сменой места жительства. подразделяется на безвозвратную (с окончательной сменой постоянного места жительства), временную (переселение на достаточно длительный, но ограниченный срок), сезонную (перемещение в определенные периоды года). различают внешнюю (за пределы страны) и внутреннюю миграцию; к внешней относятся эмиграция, иммиграция; к внутренней - движение из села в город, межрайонные переселения и др. иногда к миграции относят т. н. маятниковые миграции (регулярные поездки к месту работы или учебы за пределы своего населенного пункта).3) миграция животных - передвижения животных, вызываемые изменением условий существования в местах их обитания или связанные с циклом их развития. первые могут быть регулярными (сезонными, суточными) или нерегулярными (при засухах, пожарах и т. д.). вторые обеспечивают расселение вида (у сидячих животных, напр., кораллов, губок - на стадии личинки). регулярные миграции совершаются по более или менее определенным путям. миграции птиц называются перелетами.
