Cooling accomplished by evaporating water (usually as a fine spray) in air; as a result, the dry-bulb temperature decreases and the humidity increases; this principle is used in cooling towers and in the cooling of buildings in hot, arid climates.
The portion of a lubricant that volatilizes in use or in storage; applies especially to lubricants containing solvents or water, with high vapor pressures (see astm d-972 and d-2595).
